On March 8 the CAA will announce its All-CAA squads and a handful of individual honors at the annual postseason banquet. Before those awards are given we want to allow our #CAAHoops fans the opportunity to choose who they think is deserving of the #CAAHoops Fan’s Choice honors.

Fans will be able to cast their votes using social media. We encourage the use of comments on our Facebook news feed as well as using specific hashtags in tweets to @CAASports. Voting will begin today and close early the morning of March 8. We’ll release the winners here on the blog helping to preview the postseason banquet and our social media coverage for the event.

Checkout the voting details:

Facebook Voting: Like CAASports on Facebook then post your selections as comments under the Fan’s Choice All-CAA story in our news feed: Indicate five student-athlete names for the All-CAA First Team, One student-athlete name for the CAA Rookie of the Year, One student-athlete name for the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, One student-athlete name for the CAA Player of the Year and a coach’s name for the CAA Coach of the Year. Specifically indicate the categories along side the student-athlete names you list in your comments.

Twitter Voting: Follow @CAASports on Twitter and tweet your selections to us using the corresponding hashtags: #AllCAA (Five student-athlete names for the All-CAA First Team), #CAAROY (One student-athlete name for the CAA Rookie of the Year), #CAADPOY (One student-athlete name for the CAA Defensive Player of the Year), #CAAPOY (One student-athlete name for the CAA Player of the Year), #CAACOY (One coach’s name for the CAA Coach of the Year). Given the 140-character limit we understand a few tweets may be necessary.

We will try and tabulate the totals from the weekend on March 4 then update our #CAAHoops fans daily on the leaders, hoping to encourage more of our fans to vote.

Rookie of the Year, Jerome Hairston Jr., a good person, out to help other people. He passes the ball all over the court. He loves to make assists over shooting. He has helped his team mates anytime they are down, Jerome is the big brother that gives them the uplifting talk that pulls them together.
