Oct 12, 2012, 10:50 AM EDT

NBC Sports Network will present 18 CAA men’s basketball games to a national television audience this season, including the semifinals and finals of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

“We are pleased to announce the most extensive men’s basketball national television package in CAA history with the NBC Sports Network,” CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager said. “NBC Sports Network provides outstanding production and it provides a platform to showcase the quality of our men’s basketball programs to fans across the country.”

The schedule tips off with a pair of non-conference matchups in December. George Mason hosts perennial Missouri Valley power Northern Iowa at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 and Drexel entertains defending Southern Conference champion Davidson at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 22.

NBC Sports Network will televise six conference games in January, starting with Northeastern at George Mason at 7 p.m. on January 3. The schedule continues with Old Dominion at George Mason on Jan. 10, Drexel at James Madison on Jan. 12, Hofstra at George Mason on Jan. 19, Delaware at Drexel on Jan. 28 and Drexel at George Mason on Jan. 31.

As the CAA race heats up in February and March, seven more games will be shown across the nation. Old Dominion is at George Mason on Feb. 4, followed by the Monarchs’ road games at Drexel on Feb. 7 and Delaware on Feb. 11. Drexel entertains Hofstra on Feb. 18 and then hits the road for contests at rival Delaware on Feb. 21 and Old Dominion on Feb. 28. The regular season concludes on March 2 with George Mason at Delaware.

The semifinals of the CAA men’s basketball championship will be televised nationally for the first time on Sunday, March 10 and NBC Sports Network will broadcast the CAA championship game on Monday, March 11.

This year, NBC Sports Network will televise more than 50 college basketball games, the most in the network’s history. Part of the NBC Sports Group, NBC Sports Network is now in nearly 80 million homes. The network is the cable television home of the Summer and Winter Olympics, National Hockey League (NHL), Major League Soccer (MLS), IZOD Indy Car Series, Tour de France and the 34th America’s Cup.

The entire 2012-13 CAA television schedule, which is once again expected to include approximately 100 telecasts, will be announced at CAA Basketball Media Day on Tuesday, October 16.
